Halal Express is a new online service that allows customers to order from nearby Halal grocery stores and restaurants and have their orders delivered within hours. They also offer a unique feature that you can’t find on other online delivery services – they provide home-based cooks with a platform to showcase and sell their homemade dishes. This all-in-one platform is a Halal paradise for the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, allowing customers to order from restaurants, grocery stores, and local chefs all from a single, user-friendly app.
Challenges
When Halal Express reached out to us, they were in the conceptual stage and sought our help in turning their ideas into reality. They had the following requests:
- Develop a mobile app that detects the customer’s location and allows them to browse and place orders from nearby restaurants, grocery stores, and home chefs
- Design a corresponding website with similar functionalities but tailored for desktop users
- Establish a back-end system that seamlessly integrates with the mobile app and website, enabling the Halal Express team to oversee orders and distribute earnings to the stores
- Create a system for grocery stores to easily upload their products to the platform by scanning barcodes in-store
Solutions
The AIC team developed multiple mobile apps catering to distinct user roles: one for customers to browse and place orders, another for drivers to accept delivery requests, and a third for store owners to monitor their orders and earnings. After developing the mobile apps, we designed a complementary website that connects to the back-end platform.
Halal Express also subscribed to one of our marketing plans to promote their service and attract customers. Through their monthly subscription, we set up social media profiles, scheduled weekly posts, and designed various business cards and flyers for them to hand out.
